Professor Richard Layte

Professor of Sociology, Trinity College Dublin

Co-investigator

Richard is Head of the Sociology Department at Trinity College Dublin. His research examines the fundamental processes which influence the distribution of health and well-being in societies, and how these are shaped by political economy and the structure and functioning of health care systems. He has a keen interest in the intersection of social, psychological and biological science and works with colleagues across a range of disciplines. A large component of his research examines the possible policy applications of academic research. Richard is a co-investigator on the TeenPath Covid study and will supervise Shona during her secondment at Trinity College Dublin where she will undertake methodological training.
