Principle Investigator Dr Shona Lee attended the 2022 World Rural Health Conference hosted by the World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA) at the University of Limerick in June.

The conference brought together rural and community healthcare professionals from all corners of the globe to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing rural healthcare. We heard from experts and presenters from various sectors, including Health, Science, Engineering, the Arts, and NGOs of all shapes and sizes.

Among them was a RED Talk (Research TED talk) presentation given by Dr Lee, who spoke about the importance of approaching taking social network approaches to understanding health and wellbeing, particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and it’s disruption to young people’s social networks of support.
